What is Housing Choice?

Housing Choice is a bill passed into law in 2020 that amends Massachusetts zoning laws. The amendments related to Housing Choice are in Section 5 of Chapter 40A of the Massachusetts General Laws. Among other things, these amendments reduce the number of votes required to enact certain kinds of zoning by-laws from a 2/3 supermajority to a simple majority.
